Having a clear out

The horrible weather has finally given me the impetus to have a sort out. Some years ago my Mum handed me a rolled up bundle of papers which on inspection turned out to be my entire secondary school paintings !!
This was the least curled of them, the rest will have to flatten a bit before I can take photos. I was 16 when I painted this view of Pulborough in West Sussex as part of my Art A-level. I remember my art teacher telling me that the perspective of the pub was all wrong & me telling her that had she been to the village she would have known that the building didn't conform to the ideal - there was probably truth in both !! The pub is now long gone having been replaced by a cardboard block of town houses.

Chequers Hotel, Pulborough

Chequers Hotel, Pulborough, originally uploaded by pica pica.

This 16th century hotel, at the top of Church Hill in Pulborough, was once the annexe to the original hotel in Church Place. This burnt down in 1963 and was never rebuilt.
Greetings Cards reproduced from the original pen drawing are available from my website.
