Wisley Sweet Pea Day

The National Sweet Pea Society are having their annual open day at the RHS Wisley gardens in Surrey on the 13th June.

Why not visit the show and the trial grounds. I'll be there with a display of my notelets, cards, prints & painting - all Sweet Peas of course.

My husband, Mark Rowland of Owl's Acre Sweet Peas, will be there as well.

Spalding Art & Crafts Society Annual Exhibition

As a member of the society I've got a few paintings in the exhibition - the standard this year from all exhibitors is very good - well worth a visit.
Due to local council cuts the hall and exhibition aren't open on Mondays & Tuesdays but are open the rest of the week and on the Bank Holiday Monday.

Happy New Year

Wishing you all a Happy New Year

Helleborus Niger 'Christmas Rose'

Hope everyone had as good a Christmas as we did and are looking forward to the New Year.
I'm hoping that this will be the year that I get 'kick started' again with my painting.

ACEO

I'm working on a range of ACEO paintings at the moment. This stands for Art Card Editions & Originals. ATC - artists trading cards have long been swapped between artists and ACEO are the same but made for sale. At 2.5" x 3.5" they make an ideal small gift and you can mount & frame them individually or in a group.

Robin

Robin, originally uploaded by pica pica.

This was my first bird painting ever. It took about 12 hours to paint and 3 hours to clean up the scan.
Painted using Winsor & Newton artist quality watercolours on RWS hot pressed paper. I use RWS paper as it is the whitest paper available and usually scans well.
View this on my website as a notecard. Ideal as a Christmas card or thankyou note.

Website

Fancied a change of colours to my website and this blog. Keeps the brain cells active working out how to do it.
