Enjoyed this one - made a change from detailed flowers.

Mini seaside & flower paintings on easels

 

Had a fancy to do some small canvas paintings again. As we can't go abroad I thought it would be nice to do some seascapes. Bought some very cute 10x10cm canvases that come with an easel. These & the flowers are for sale on my Etsy site.

Patchings Art Festival

Excellent day at Patchings yesterday, chatted to lots of talented artists & bought a few things - 

it would be silly to go all that way & come away empty handed :)

Inktense pencils & black pen

I have returned from holidays in Portugal & Tenerife 

with a ridiculous amount of subject material for future paintings. 

Now all I need is the time to do them!!

Blackrock Cottage, Glencoe

I painted Blackrock Cottage, Glencoe for my local art society Snow Challenge.

Not a subject I would usually tackle but I enjoyed the process and am happy with the result.

Starting with a photo I took several years ago without snow 

I referenced similar photos from the internet with snow.

#inktober 1

I used to do a lot of pen drawings but lately have got out of the habit. 

#inktober spurred me on to get the pens out.

Lavenham is full of lovely old half timbered buildings - most of which escaped the 

Victorian 'Black & White' habit - so have lovely silvery oak timbers. 

This suited the fact that my pen was running out so didn't give a hard black !
