Having a clear out
The horrible weather has finally given me the impetus to have a sort out.
Some years ago my Mum handed me a rolled up bundle of papers which on inspection turned out to be my entire secondary school paintings !!
This was the least curled of them, the rest will have to flatten a bit before I can take photos.
I was 16 when I painted this view of Pulborough in West Sussex as part of my Art A-level. I remember my art teacher telling me that the perspective of the pub was all wrong & me telling her that had she been to the village she would have known that the building didn't conform to the ideal - there was probably truth in both !! The pub is now long gone having been replaced by a cardboard block of town houses.

Encaustic Wax
As a bit of a
'hobbies butterfly' I like to try different styles & techniques.
One I have a great deal of fun with is encaustic wax. It's amazing
what you can create with a small iron, a few sticks of wax & some
shiny paper.
The simplest techniques will give you a myriad of
abstract patterns and you can progress to more realistic work if you
so choose.
I mostly work on
6”x4” or 5”x7” paper & either mount & frame them or
turn them into cards.
